Red State Sports (RSS) is a golf apparel, equipment and accessory concept with an irreverent, sometimes obnoxious, surly, witty and always humous focus on today’s politics, current events and culture. Red State Sports looks to capture these comical, albeit politically charged idioms and parlances in succinct graphics and punchlines embedded within the apparel, equipment and accessories. The goal of RSS is not only to produce golf related items that can be worn and used on the golf course but can be a public statement of pride for one’s political affiliation.After making the Blue State, California exodus to the Red State, Florida in June of 2022, we immediately found the new and very welcomed political vibe to be quite different. After taking up golf, it became clear that no topics were sacred on the course and politics was a common theme. "You didn't bring your California voting habits with you?" continues to be the initial question after hearing about our Los Angeles exit.
Ultimately, the concept was born in a Texas dive bar in Jan 2023 during "bar chatter" with everyday red state fellows, all while making a tee time prior to a flight home to Florida the next day. As it seemed, good humored, political gear on the golf course would be a hit. The beer drinking pals thought so too.
